Advanced Tooltip Config

Advanced Tooltip System

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
isEnabledVar<Boolean>trueEnable or disable the advanced dynamic tooltip system. Not applied to players in creative mode, who see the raw MMOItems lore so that their items are never altered.
paginationKeybindVar<String>SWAP_OFFHANDKeybind used for changing pages. Available: SWAP_OFFHAND, DROP, SNEAK, SHIFT_LEFT, SHIFT_RIGHT, LEFT_CLICK, RIGHT_CLICK, MIDDLE_CLICK. Defaults to SWAP_OFFHAND (F key).
comparisonKeybindVar<String>SNEAKKeybind used to set an item as the comparison base. Available: SWAP_OFFHAND, DROP, SNEAK, SHIFT_LEFT, SHIFT_RIGHT, LEFT_CLICK, RIGHT_CLICK, MIDDLE_CLICK.
requirementMetSymbolVar<String><green>✔</green>Symbol when a requirement IS met. Place <requirement_met> and <requirement_not_met> side by side in your lore — only one shows based on dynamic evaluation against the player's current stats.
requirementNotMetSymbolVar<String><red>✖</red>Symbol when a requirement is NOT met. Used with <requirement_met> — the tags are mutually exclusive: one is always hidden.
categoryImagesMap<String, String>—Map of MMOItems Category IDs to their MiniMessage icon string (e.g., BOOTS to <font:nexo:custom>boots_icon</font>).
overrideDefaultLoreVar<Boolean>trueToggle to completely override the default MMOItems lore format and replace it with Typewriter's dynamic format. When disabled (or when the system is disabled), there is no pagination and no comparison: the whole MMOItems lore is shown on one page and the Typewriter tags (<requirement_met>, <page_break>, ...) are removed from it. Limit: players in creative mode always see the raw MMOItems lore, tags included, because the creative client sends items back as it displays them and a rewritten lore would permanently alter the real item.
paginationIndicatorVar<String><gray>Press <yellow>F</yellow> to change page <dark_gray>(<yellow><page></yellow>/<max_pages>)</dark_gray>Indicator string to display at the bottom of a multi-page item (e.g. 'Press F for next page - <page>/<max_pages>'). Use <page>, <max_pages>, <total_pages>, <current_page> placeholders.Multi-line
comparisonIndicatorVar<String><gray>Press <yellow>Shift</yellow> to compare items</gray>Indicator string to display for comparison (e.g. 'Press Shift to compare').Multi-line
statsStartOnPageVar<Int>2If page 1 contains no stats, start page numbering at this page. Default 2 means items without stats on page 1 will show as Page 2/N.
enableComparisonTagsVar<Boolean>trueEnable dynamic comparison tags (<comparison_value>, <comparison_sign>) in item lore. When disabled, these tags are hidden.

How to use it

Add this entry once, on a manifest page, then publish. See Advanced tooltips for the list of lore tags (<page_break>, <requirement_met>, <comparison_value>...) you can put in your MMOItems lore.

  • paginationKeybind and comparisonKeybind accept SWAP_OFFHAND, DROP, SNEAK, SHIFT_LEFT, SHIFT_RIGHT, LEFT_CLICK, RIGHT_CLICK or MIDDLE_CLICK. Do not give both the same key.
  • categoryImages maps an MMOItems type id (for example SWORD) to a MiniMessage string, shown where <category_image> appears. The defaults use a nexo:custom font: replace them with your own icons.
  • statsStartOnPage hides a first page that holds no stats: with the default 2 and a first page without numbers or requirement tags, the numbering starts at page 2 of the remaining pages.
  • overrideDefaultLore (default on) decides whether Typewriter's tooltip replaces the MMOItems lore. Off, or with isEnabled off, or without this entry, there is no pagination and no comparison: the whole MMOItems lore is shown on one page and the tags (<requirement_met>, <page_break>...) are removed from it.
  • A new entry starts with working values: every field above has a default, so an entry created in the web editor works as soon as it is published.
Survival and Adventure only

Pagination and the advanced lore apply only to players in Survival and Adventure. In Creative, the original MMOItems lore is shown as it is, tags included. The creative client sends items back as it displays them, so rewriting the lore there would permanently alter the real item.
